Redesigning Curation Connect — Turning Skeptical Investors into Engaged Users

Problem
We talked to the team, interviewed investors, corporate partners, and wholesale buyers, and ran Hotjar to track behavior. Here's what we found:
Investors weren't engaging.
70% of users didn't scroll past 30% of the showcase page.
80% abandoned showcase videos after the first minute.
They wanted quick, digestible info — not 10-minute CEO interviews.
The team was drowning in manual work.
Every showcase required days of work. The team manually uploaded videos, text, and images using a website builder and Canva.
The site wasn't responsive. Mobile users had a broken experience.
Trust was the real blocker.
Investors told us they didn't trust content created by the companies themselves. CEO interviews felt like sales pitches.
They wanted third-party validation, expert opinions, transparent data.
The insight: Investors don't need more content. They need the right content, faster, with proof it's not bullshit.
What We Built
1. A Lightweight CMS
The team was spending days uploading content via a website builder. We built a simple CMS that let them create and edit showcases in hours instead of days.
Not glamorous. But it unblocked everything else.

2. Redesigned Showcase Pages
We stripped out the bloat and rebuilt the showcase experience around three moves:
Reduced reliance on video. Video stayed, but we deprioritized it. Instead, we led with concise business summaries, infographics, key stats, and financials. Investors could scan in 30 seconds and decide if they wanted to dig deeper.
Added expert insights. We introduced a section where external investors and industry experts could leave unbiased feedback and market analysis. This wasn't company spin — it was third-party validation. Investors trusted it.
Built conversion-driven features.
Pop-up for stock news subscription: After users spent 20+ seconds on a showcase, a pop-up invited them to follow the company's stock updates. This drove a 40% increase in email subscriptions.
Members-only content: We locked high-demand content (detailed financials, expert reports) behind a sign-up wall. 30% increase in user sign-ups in the first month.
CTA banners: Clear, strategically placed CTAs guiding users toward key actions — sign up, follow news, explore opportunities.


Curation AI — Real-Time Investment Insights
Investors had questions mid-browse but didn't want to wait for email responses or dig through dense reports. The problem: information overload without a guide.
We introduced Curation AI — a chatbot that surfaces insights on financial data, deal structures, regulatory concerns, and industry trends in real-time.
How it works:
Users can ask custom questions ("How does the Hologen AI deal structure create value for shareholders?")
Or browse pre-loaded prompts tied to each showcase (common investor questions like "What are the risks?" or "How strong is their regulatory position?")
The AI pulls from verified sources — financial filings, third-party research, market data — and delivers answers in seconds.

Why this worked:
Investors don't just need data. They need context. Curation AI acted like a research assistant sitting next to them, answering questions the moment they came up. It removed friction and built confidence.
Impact:
22% of showcase visitors engaged with Curation AI within the first 3 months.
Users who interacted with the chatbot spent 2.3x longer on showcase pages compared to those who didn't.
18% conversion lift from chatbot users to sign-ups — they felt more informed, so they committed.
Outcome
User Engagement: Time spent on showcase pages increased by 50%. Investors were actually reading, not bouncing.
Conversion: 60% of users who viewed a showcase clicked the main CTA within 6 months.
Efficiency: The CMS allowed the team to create 6 showcases in half the time it used to take.
Trust: Expert insights and Curation AI shifted the perception from "sales pitch" to "credible investment opportunity."
